Tarpeena

Mount Gambier and its neighbourhood offer some of the most popular scenic spots in South Australia.

Whilst some of them boast a number of breathtaking lakes and conservation parks, many offer gorgeous volcanic landscapes with craters. One such beautiful town in northern Mount Gambier is Tarpeena.

For those looking to take a drive out to Tarpeena, you should take the Riddoch Highway from Mount Gambier via Penola.

In the past, there were a number of aboriginal civilizations located along the Limestone Coast region. Tarpeena was one such location, however, as it has developed into a pastoral farming town, Tarpeena has gradually emerged as an agricultural and timber hub in South Australia.

Tarpeena’s most popular attractions are the Mary MacKillop Interpretive Centre, Petticoat Lane, Penola Fantasy Theme Park, Model Railway & Tea Room, and the nearby Coonawarra Wine Region.
