The park also covers the remains of the first cemetery of the local settlement; a burial site once used from 1850-1878 for the deceased members of the pioneering families. The cemetery also houses a small monument that commemorates the town’s 50th anniversary.
The park’s facilities include barbecues, free parking, picnic tables, shelter, seating, and toilets. Dogs on a leash are allowed. Interpretive signage is also available.
Getting to and from Pioneer Park is easy, as the township is accessible on foot. However, if you intend to visit other nearby destinations, it’s best to get around with a car.
