The Naracoorte Art Gallery was South Australia’s very first regional art gallery. It opened its doors back in 1968 and has since become a pivotal establishment in the local arts and culture scene.
The gallery operates with a ‘Your Town, Your Gallery’ motto, which encourages everyone in the community to engage and join in the many art-centred activities.

There’s something for all ages too; both adults and kids alike can dabble in art or join in the workshops. Though there are a variety of special displays held at certain times of the year, visitors can also check out the permanent displays of Australian art made by over 60 artists; including John Goodchild.
The gallery also displays a variety of Aboriginal prints, The Naracoorte National Trust Furniture and Social History Collection, contemporary Australian art, ceramics, paintings, and much more. Gift items and art can be purchased in the gallery shop.
Naracoorte Art Gallery is housed in a historic, elegant Georgian home, which belonged to the Pavy family in the past. Operations are now handled by the Board of Management, who ensure that the day-to-day activities are of the highest quality.
Naracoorte Art Gallery is located at 91 Ormerod Street in Naracoorte. Opening hours are 10am – 4pm on Wednesdays through Fridays, and 10am – 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
