Lake McIntyre Park

Lake McIntyre Park is a sanctuary and popular attraction in Millicent; known for its expansive collection of native trees and birdlife.

Picnicking is one of the best things to enjoy in the park, with shaded areas, free gas barbecues, an interpretive centre, bridge, boardwalk, walking trails, viewing platform, ample parking, and wheelchair access.

The 1.3km bushwalking trails are easy enough for all ages and skill levels, and it just takes 20 minutes to walk around the lake. The bird hides are accessible from the trail. If you need to rest, there are seats provided in various locations on the path.

Several migratory and native birds thrive in the lake, and there are more than 50 waterbird species that have been seen here. Another way to see the birds is to check out the strategically-placed viewing platforms.

Visitors are advised to take their rubbish since there are no trash bins found here. Swimming in the lake itself is prohibited because it has been designed to be a safe refuge for the many birds that live in the area.

Lake McIntyre Park is open every day from 6am to 7pm. Entrance is free of charge.
