Burrungule

Burrungule is a small locality in the District Council of Grant in South Australia, though its northern area belongs to the Wattle Range Council; located around 20km west of Mount Gambier.

The Princes Highway, as well as the former Mount Gambier-Beachport railway, traverses through the town.

The town is named after the now-defunct railway siding, which also gets its name from the Aboriginal term referring to a currant bush. Burrungule is home to just over a hundred residents, so it’s a great place to visit to explore small-town South Australia.

It’s a quick 20-minute drive from Mount Gambier, with a handful of attractions and activities to enjoy.

One of the most popular establishments for families and kids in the area is the Burrungule Park Paintball; known for its incredibly fun laser tag and paintball amenities. If you’re visiting with children, it’s definitely worth stopping by for a few hours of fun.

The Burrungule Dairy is another; it has been owned and operated by the Pearson family for over 40 years. Here, you’ll find 600 hectares of farm with 650 milking cows and hundreds of heifers.
