Due to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout Australia and the resulting restrictions imposed by the Federal and State governments, Mount Gambier Farmers Market has been temporarily closed until further notice. We will keep you up to date any developments and please stay safe.
The location of the market is ideal as it gives visitors a break from the city’s hustle and bustle and simply allows a getaway for crisp air, serene surroundings and best of all, fresh produce straight from the farm.

At the market, visitors also get to interact with the farmers who grow the produce at their various food stalls. Perhaps the most fascinating thing is that there are quite a number of farmers who have engaged in organic farming. Some prominent stallholders include Kalangadoo Organic where visitors can get organic apples, Nolan’s Road which provides organic extra virgin olive oil and Lal’s Burmese Vegetables where guests can get fresh veggies.
A visit to this farmers’ market would certainly be incomplete without sampling produce from Gala’s Middle Eastern Delights. These stall sources produce from Iran, Iraq and Turkey, creating the foundation for Middle Eastern cuisine.
The Mount Gambier Farmers Market runs once per week, every Saturday morning. The market is operational between 9.00am and noon, allowing ample time for grocery shoppers. There is every reason for visitors touring Mount Gambier to sample fresh farm produce direct from paddock to plate.
