Mount Gambier Towns & Surrounding Area of the Limestone Coast, SA


Stay in Coonawarra which is the grape and wine region of South Australia. With numerous farmlands and a favourable climate, the wine region has the highest number of grape growing areas along the Limestone Coast. Coonawarra certainly has a reputation as one of Australia’s finest wine regions and is well known for producing world-class red wines, in particular, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Penola is a quaint town located just 52 kilometres north of Mount Gambier. Penola is a thriving residential community and is most popularly known as the gateway to the Coonawarra Wine Region. If you are looking for a quiet weekend away within driving distance of Adelaide or Melbourne, then Penola is a great place to start.

Beachport is a wonderful seaside district in South Australia that has enormous appeal, great caravan park accommodation options and spectacular tourist attractions. Bordered by the gorgeous coastline, Beachport offers a multitude of coastal activities for visitors. Tourists often come here to relax in a tranquil beach-side environment while exploring the numerous attractions at the town centre during their beach holiday.

Being seaside town, Robe offers a number of accommodation and caravan park options which are set along the beautiful beachside. In addition, the city also has numerous historic places to see.
